The word "laser" stands for "light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation." Therapeutic low level laser therapy is the use of monochromatic light in the 630 to 905 nanometer (nm) ranges. It has gained so many names: Low Intensity Laser Therapy, Low Level Laser Therapy, Cold Laser and Therapeutic Laser.
Therapeutic LLLT heals tissue ailments by injecting billions of photons of visible and invisible laser light deep into tissue structures. Tissue naturally contains protein strands called chromophores and cytochromes located in the mitochondria of a cell, which have the unique ability to absorb laser light energy and transform it into chemical energy. This chemical energy is utilized by the tissue on a cellular level to significantly accelerate the healing process and reduce pain in the body naturally.

Yes. Over 2000 clinical studies worldwide have proven the success of therapeutic lasers in the healing of musculoskeletal conditions. Theralase has performed a blinded randomized control study on chronic knee pain proving the clinical efficacy and safety of Theralase Therapeutic Laser Technology.
There are no known side effects with therapeutic laser. It is a non-invasive healing technique that only utilizes harmless, yet effective light to stimulate tissue healing.
It depends on your injury, but it averages 10 treatments.
Rapid Cell Growth
Laser light accelerates cellular reproduction and growth
Faster Wound Healing
Laser light stimulates fibroblast development and accelerates collagen synthesis in damaged tissue
Anti-Inflammatory action
It reduces swelling by enhancing proliferation of immune cells, lymphatic drainage and improving microcirculation in the injured tissue.
Reduced Fibrous Tissue Formation
Laser light reduces the formation of scar tissue following tissue damage from: cuts, scratches, burns or post surgery
Increased Metabolic Activity
It induces release of specific enzymes for production of the basic food source for the cells, Adenosine Tri-phosphate (ATP).
Increased Vascular Activity
Laser light induces temporary vasodilatation increasing blood flow and oxygenation to damaged tissues
Stimulated Nerve Function
Slow recovery of nerve function in damaged tissue can result in "dead" limbs or numb areas. Laser light speeds up the process of nerve cell reconnection to bring the numb areas back to life. It also enhances peripheral nerve regeneration after injury.
